Happy Wednesday! I can understand if you aren't that excited by it being April 15, where our income taxes need to be filed in the USA at least. I'm not sure about other parts of the world.
Midweek Photos is back with a new selection of pics that we hope will brighten up your day. If not, somebody please add until our day is brightened!
Sun was setting last Saturday, April 11 when I happened upon this parked grain train in Scranton, PA. Delaware Lackawanna would run this train to Tobyhanna on Sunday. She is posed on the Steamtown bridge over South Washington Ave.
The view from the parallel bridge south. This one once served the DL&W locomotive shops, which we see on the right.
A group of us who are involved with the Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society spent the past few weekends clearing out tracks in the north end of town where these cars and others will go to be their new home. From left to right, we see a late 1960s Erie Lackawanna "Dieseliner" coach, Lackawanna Diner 469 and Nickel Plate Road sleeper 211.
A few days later, while hiking the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, I happened across Delaware & Hudson GP38 number 7303. She was switching cars in preparation for deliveries to be made later in the day.
That's what I caught lately. How about you? If you have anything to share with the rest of us, please do. And have a great week.
