Happy Wednesday, everyone! Time for another edition of Midweek Photos.
The early morning sun a few weeks ago found me in Lebanon, OH. A charter excursion on the LM&M Railroad would take us to Mason. The "other M" in the name refers to Monroe, OH. The track leading to Monroe was still under repair, and expected to reopen to the public in late summer or fall.
The trip was led by GP30 no. 901.
Our first photo stop was crossing Turtle Creek, if I recall correctly.
For a turbocharged diesel, this unit made quite a bit of smoke.
This was a restroom stop at a trackside golf course. The early light wasn't ideal for photos, but this wasn't a bad shot.
At a city park in Mason. From behind me, you could see the skyline of Cincinnati.
And one last stop as we picked up lunch to head to the city for our visit to the Cincinnati Union Terminal and museum. Note the location of the bell, underneath the headlight.
That's my contribution for this week. Thanks to all for adding to the Midweek threads over the past several weeks. All pictures added give us a fuller view of the state of railroading in the US and sometimes in the world at large. Have a great week!
