Good Wednesday morning, everyone. The sun is not yet up in Pennsylvania, where I am posting, so I hope this thread is like a welcome breakfast treat for you.

I took a Steamtown train to Moscow, PA on August 7, and this trip was led by Alco RS3 no 4118, lent from the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad.

There was a street fair in Moscow this trip, so the train parked a bit shy of the station so the passengers could cross the blacktopped tracks to reach the fair.

This opened a few photo opportunities that we don't normally get.  The longer layover to accommodate the fair also meant that the train crew could pose at the engine before moving the train for the return to Scranton.

Some of the Interpretation staff also posed at the engine.

In Moscow, the overpass built by the railroad in 1910 has been decorated to pay tribute to the rail heritage of the town.  It looks like Steamtown's Canadian National 3254 passing the station.

And the train is now ready to return to Scranton.  It was a great time.  Now, time for you to add any photos you may have gathered of train trips or freights that crossed your path.  How about a subway?  Anything happening in the "real" world is a welcome relief to the day.  Talk to ya later!

Let's take in some early morning rush hour action along NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. The location is the southern part of Red Bank. Here, the railroad is sandwiched between Maple Avenue to the east and Count Basie Park to the west. On this occasion, we are fortunate to catch the 4635 which is one of NJT's locomotives honoring the military.

Another day on the Allentown and Auburn.

Lehigh New England 611 sitting at the front of our vintage freight. Of special note: the gondola behind it is also Lehigh New England.

Pennsylvania 4666. This has been used for a private charter, and will be used for a couple upcoming trains (September 4th being "Bug Day".

Tim, I am happily retired, but I'd trade places with the Engineer on that RS3-powered passenger train in a heartbeat!
