Hello all
One of the huge benefits of attending Milwaukee Trainfest ...is visiting "The Model Railroad Club of Milwaukee" 215E National Ave , Milwaukee ...located within the trestle embankment formerly the Allis station .... opened in 1936 . Feel the trains rumble around the layout and overhead . The Model Railroad Club of Milwaukee had a both at Trainfest .... offering all to attend there step back in time huge O scale layout .... the place should have been packed if 1% of Trainfest took them up on their kind offer ... The Model Railroad Club of Milwaukee is a real charm and look at a huge period O scale layout ... running Old School ... no staring at little hand held digital pieces of plastic to make a train run ... real live throttle and switcher from block to block, lights and meters the works perched up high looking down at the empire as the train winds from town to town . Running last night was the cover shot engine from MR back in 1938 ....still pulling revenue service. Members , father and son , John and Tony were incredibly kind to give the Cooks tour of the RR .
If you are ever even remotely close to Milwaukee you owe it to yourself to see the legendary Model Club of Milwaukee " ....... if you live close join the club great group of folks and a wonderful opportunity to support one of the pillars of O scale history .
