The inside of my shed has plywood beams and balsa wood purlins.

also look at the video of the NJHRs to see their shed's doors move.
A lot of nice buildings. I won't post another building of a non forum sponsor's product (without a link to that manufacture I might add), so it can be deleted again. I'm surprised others posts on non sponsors products haven't been deleted yet.
Thanks Joe!
This is turning into a very comprehensive display of the variety of engine houses available, very interesting. One that has not been shown yet is the panel construction version of the Pecos River/Korber/Muffin kit. Like all the Pecos River original kits, they were modular, so you could design and build a structure of whatever size and configuration you wish.

I love the interior of your shed!@
Great looking facilities all around! I'm waiting on the Bridgeboss re-release to purchase his but also bit on the Proses one with the working doors as it became of available as of 3/15.

Just so everyone knows, Ive had several requests over the last year for this facility and have decided to bring it back, however w several changes, improvements, and options. It will offered in kit form only, unpainted, and painted, similarly as I offer the train sheds. Assembled was always a bear to ship due to all of the intricate parts. Watch my website for updates and status. Thanks, Jim r
This is great news. Any estimate on when these will be available to order?

Checked the bridgeboss site: nothing new to report- still "coming soon" hoping this means some really cool new features
Here is a modest freestyle engine house that I scratchbuilt a little while ago:
Here is the build thread:
Avanti I remember when you were building that engine house.

Hi Everyone, Ive had so many inquires on the New Engine Facility that id better get moving along w the design. I will be showing updates on the front page of my website as I progress. It will be available in single, dual and 3 track configurations and in 24, 36 and 48 inch lengths. Will be all modular construction lending to a very easy assembly process. Will have plenty of options available.
Thanks,

Keep us updated on the progress!!
Hi All, I just stumbled across this thread, what great buildings! I was wondering if anyone had plans that I could use to scratch build my own 2 stall engine facility ?
Mike:
It would be fairly uncomplicated to build.
From scratch it is basically 4 walls laminated with whatever panels you like plus a flat roof. Several manufacturers sell round house windows. Plastruct sells I-beams, trusses etc for the inside. Just make sure the walls are thick enough so that the structure does not 'sway in the breeze'. I saw one made from 20 mil stock that would be impossible to pick up if not for a base. I have some basic info I can post on functioning roll up doors.
You could also start with a kit like Korber #MRS1132 - O Scale - 2 Stall Engine House Kit (Brick) and ask about changing the brick walls to solid walls #MRS1011 - O Scale - Kendall Manufacturing Background Building Kit and making the kit longer or shorter by panel sections. Rich used to do this all the time when he owned Korber. I'm sure Steve Nelson will accommodate too.
For the inside service platforms - (there are also other suppliers like TW Trainworks and Traincat Model Sales)
Crescent Locomotive Works -
CLWWPS
O scale Wood Engine house/Roundhouse service Platforms, set of 4The set comes with 2 18″ X 1″ and 2- 4″ X 2″ platforms. The will fit in most engine service buildings and roundhouse brands.

I've posted these pics on my build thread, but they're appropriate here too. The laser cut parts arrived for the engine house.
I made a booboo on the on the machine shop side walls. I put the darn tabs on the wrong end. DOH! Stephen Milley has already cut and mailed me corrected ones. I spent a lot of time aligning those tabs on the CorelDraw Laser Cutting drawings. Too bad I wasn't paying attention to how the walls were oriented when I drew them.
This shows why it had to be so darn long.
Here it is sitting where it will be when it's actually built.
I have another commission job I'm building before I can get to this one. I was just holding it together with clamps to see if my plans actually worked with the layout. Other than the tabs screwup, it fits exactly as it should.
I just contacted Crescent Locomotive Works to see about those service platforms. I don't have space between the tracks since their only 3.5" on center due to the Ross #4 switch ladder spacing, but I will need something on the outside tracks. I'll posting this entire build on my regular running thread, if anyone cares to see its construction.
The replacement walls came already, and here's what it looks like when the walls are in the proper orientation.
Look Ma! The tabs are actually on the correct edge of the wall. Notice: the alignment is actually perfect with the lower edges coinciding. At least I got that part right.

Hi again. Updates posted on my website today, making progress.

Jim, I can't get your site to load? Maybe just me?
Hi Joe. Looks like it not loading from the OGR site.
Try typing in your browser www.bridgeboss.com.
let me know,
thanks
Hi Guys, I have been looking at some of the kits and I just cant afford them. So I looked around the garage and was able to come up with some stuff for a scratch build. First was some old sign boards, then some scrap lumber laying around, some spray paint on the shelf, and an old Christmas plastic box. Here is what I started with and where I am now. I still have to add some more cross members, lighting and trim. But I am happy with how its turning out so far! Best part $0 cost, just reusing things I already had laying around. I still have to paint the roof and add roofvents, then hope to build a catwalk between tracks!
Nice job Mike!

Mike G, I'm surprised you painted the diesel shed instead of leaving it a Coors Light diesel shed.

Thanks Rick, It sure does take up a lot of room, but I really like the way it looks!
Very nice job Bro!

Thanks Bro! I have to thank a lot of people on this forum for what I have learned ! What a great group of people!
I know what you mean! Besides the wonderful friendships with people I've never met there is a veritable wealth of information available from forum members who are always willing to share, suggest or help any way they can! After getting my first train five years ago, the best thing I've done is join this forum! How's that for a commercial! LOL

Not only that, Joe... I was expecting that it was going to be a loading dock for the finally produced brewery, and those oil storage tanks would be repurposed into somewhat large kegs
