My Lionel Moe & Joe car was originally painted for MKT.  I decided to repaint it for Lionel Steel.

Disassembling...

I had to strip the shrink wrap and desolder the wires in order to fully remove the trucks...

The figures were painted with craft acrylics.  Moe & Joe pose in their new clothes...

I didn't want the silver painted trucks to return to this car, so I stripped and disassembled them.  They were eventually painted with Krylon Satin Black.

Flat car was primed Krylon white primer that painted with Krylon Banner Red.  Lettering/numbers are Gothic dry-transfer decals from Woodland Scenics...

The simulated diamond tread was painted with Testors aluminum model paint...

Since this is for a steelworks, I removed the wood "planks" and made new ones from sheet styrene.  The new styrene "planks" were painted with Testors Silver model paint.

This car will join my Trackmobile and trio of shorty flatcars that carry half sections of tubular track.  The three flatcars look like this one...

Though you might want to put a few more muscles on them.

Steel is a lot heaver than wood.

Did you change there names also ? Or did the lumber mill

just have a layoff ?

Thank you.
Same names.  They just walked off the job.

LOL.  You'll be happy to know that there will soon be a plastics company on my pike.

What's really amazing is that their hands don't even touch the steel slabs   They don't even break a sweat.

Thanks.

That would be hilarious to paint them like the Mario brothers.

I thought about painting them different, but I figure Lionel did them like twins so I did too.

Thank you very much, Alan.  This one was fun to do.  Now I just need to finally finish painting my Lionel Steel complex.
