A winter storm has its grip on the depths of Eldorado Canyon in Boulder County CO. Deep in the tunnel district and just from South Draw behind the majestic Flatiron Range, Amtrak the California Zephyr train 5 is westbound lifting the deep snow from the roadbed following the original route of the Most Talked About Train in the Country. Through the Rocky Mountains, not around them. 2/2/22

With its decorated Winter Park Express cars running forward WPE hits the morning sun seconds after the shadow lifts at East Portal. With a glint of sun off the 2nd P42 this sparkling shiny snow fun sled will be at Winter Park in less than 15 minutes. 1/29/22

Alpenglow and Snow under the Great Divide
Heavy snowfall Friday night left a winter wonderland under the Great Divide overnight at Rollins Pass. To my astonishment the Union Pacific MGJNY and BNSF HPVODEN1 were in parade all beginning at first light leading to a dream realized for me to capture a scene like this with the Alpenglow and winter best in full flock. 1/23/22
