Andre,(lamin) asked about seeing some of the blue & gray Missouri Pacific power on track.
I have bought a number of new and used units, MTH F3's and recently picked up a pair of GP9's, also a Williams BL2. Putting them side by side today, I was wondering if the Williams BL2 is scale. I kind of always thought it was. It is a noticable length longer than an F3. It has been boxed for awhile, but ran perfect back on the rails. I can see that this will be a project loco as I need to slow it down and will wire the motors in series. Also, the headlight is pretty dim and will replace with LED's and some constant voltage protection for them.
Another of my future Mopac chores is to paint the shell on an MTH VO 1000 into basic Mopac black. I do have the decals for this. I picked up a shell of ebay awhile back for the replacement of an on-hand VO 1000.
I have a chance to pick up a MTH PA set with a streamlined Eagle, but at this point, just don't think I can use them on the layout. They are beautiful!
I may one day get the MTH MP FT, but there is seldom a scale MP diesel for sale on the secondary market. (the Lionel GP7 is very common, but it is also on my roster)
In the future, I'd like to see MTH or Willians to make a Mopac F7 or Texas&Pacific or KO&G, (all the same scheme), or an Alco FA, the MP had a ton of them. Tops would be a Babay Face Baldwin diesel. I try and limit Atlas diesels to non-powered units as I don't have TMCC and can't justify the price with the electronics.
