The train no longer revolves around the perimeter of my Lionel Centennial Wall Clock.  Took the unit apart and realized the motor is worn out.  Was about to trash the unit (still keeps time), until I realized the value of the item.  Could not find the clock listed on the Lionel replacement part website. Any suggestions to replace the motor?  Seems fairly simple, but the size is  critical.

Thanks,

Michael

Except for the pulley, it looks like a very common Lionel motor that was found in motorized trucks on inexpensive diesels, among other things. I may have a few spares in a drawer downstairs. Not sure about the RPM's on it though. Looks like you have plenty of gear reduction there to slow it down. Drop me an email if you want to give it a try. No charge.

Thanks to those who offered suggestions.  Here's some additional info:

No numbers or markings of any sort on the motor.  It's a Lionel product, but most likely made in China.  The motor has an unusual shape to fit into the holder.  Dimensions: 1" long; 3/4" across the rounded edges; 9/16" across the flat edges (see additional photos to show shape).  No idea of RPMs, but works on 3 C cell batteries.

I've got several small motors from models, but nothing of this shape or size.  If you've got one with similar dimensions , let me know, and I'll be in touch.

Thanks,

Michael

Pull the pulley off the shaft on your worn out motor and see if it's a round shaft, or if the shaft has a flat (or flats) on it. I think the motor shown in the attachment has a flat on the shaft and appears to have about the right shaft length. I bought one not too long ago from Lionel to save an 8769 Republic Steel Switcher, so Lionel probably still has them
