Godspeed, Don. I pray that Hawaiians won't encounter the similar devastating destruction and long lasting misery that our Puerto Rican brethren suffered from their storms..
God Bless and Good Luck!!!

Good luck Don. Stay safe.
I am rooting for you, too, Don, not just for your trains and cameras, but for the personal safety of you and Vickie, too. Hope this fails to produce the predicted amount of rain and wind.
Ah, Paradise! Volcanoes and hurricanes! Thought they were called typhoons in the Pacific Rim.
What, me worry?
Hope all goes well, be safe and our prayers are for you and all of Hawaii.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone else in the storm's path. Stay safe - we're all hoping for the best.

"Officials say Hurricane Lane has been downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane with more weakening forecast over next 2 days--Yahoo weather"
Let's hope so.

I have been through a few hurricanes. No cat 5s and doubt any produced 50" of water. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Don,
Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife making it through this safely. Godspeed.
Ah, the pitfalls of living in paradise. I saw that on the news today. It's been a long time since Hawaii has taken a direct hit.
Don, stay safe first, stay dry second. Stuff can be replaced, people can't.
I also add my prayers to you & your family for your safety. I've been through a number of hurricanes myself & know how scary they can be.
Good luck to you and your wife, Don. I hope you, your house and possessions emerge unscathed. I keep watching this storm, and they keep changing predictions every few hours. I hope it turns out to sea and doesn't hit any of the Islands in a major way!
Prayers going your way and please stay safe!
Stay safe Don! We’ve been through two and I do not recommend the experience.

As did I. I thought that we here in the Gulf Of Mexico/Caribbean/Atlantic proper used the "H" word, and the Pacific area used "typhoon". (Just looked it up - "typhoon" is used in the Northwest Pacific, and "hurricane" is used in the Northeast Pacific, which would include Hawaii, I guess. Who knew?)
Prayers and best wishes to you and your wife. Weather can be very unpredictable and devastating.

Prayers and best wishes stay safe. Like big boy said stuff can be replaced lives cannot
Prayers and best wishes stay safe.
Best of luck to you! I hope you get through the storm with minor or no damage. I'm sure you know this, but remember your and your wife's safety and health is top priority. All material things can be replaced, people can not.
Good luck to you all over there and I'm hoping the storm loses strength and/or veers off in another direction to miss you. Be careful and stay safe!
Don, best wishes to you and your family and friends.
Don,
Our daughter and son and families live on Big Island so we understand what you are facing. We will include you and your family in our thoughts and prayers!
Stay safe!

The Pacific Dateline is part of the cutoff between North Western typhoons and Central Pacific and Eastern hurricanes.
Man...I fell asleep watching the radar after reading this. Slightly weaker, but it's hardly moved ... its only going NW at about 8mph and has a secondary system SE thats been nearly as nasty. Angry seas!

Keeping you in our thoughts.
Don sending thoughts and prayers for you and Vicky. Hoping that you'll miss the worst of it. You are wise to prepare!
Thank you guys and gals so much. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It's such a strange day waiting for tonight. It's a regular Hawaiian day. Blue sky, slight breeze, about 85 yet waiting for the night and what happens is really frightening. We are trying to keep busy. Just went up to a friends house. They are in Canada on vacation. Moved all their lawn stuff inside so it won't go flying. Saw about 25 roofers trying to put a new roof on a house. They must finish today. This is a shot from space of our hurricane. We are somewhere down there. Thank You Again. Don

News said up to 20 inches...50 inches would be time to build an ark...be safe my friend
Good luck to you sir and god bless.
Bill, I think Dan Cook the weather guy on channel 9 here made a mistake. He was working to many hours. I have known him for year and can't wait to give him you know what about the 50 inches. But not now as he really is all over this storm and working a ton of hours.
For us this is the worst time. Just waiting and waiting. We are doing anything and everything to keep working and our minds off what is out there. We are getting lightning strikes now but no rain or wind. Don
Bless you and stay safe ,!!!know the feeling ,lived on the Jersey coast for years, thoughts with you.
