I just picked up mpc era F unit. Its very, very clean. Not dirty or gunked up at all. Shows very little use. BUT it only goes in reverse. E unit it clean and sparkly. I switched the brushes out with the same result. Ideas anyone??

Does it sit as if it was still in neutral?
If so, then one of the e-unit finger contacts is probably not in contact with the e-unit drum.
No neutral.
So... what does it do when it should be going foward?
Any lights, humming, etc?
Wow! I feel so stupid! I just sprayed some tuner cleaner and like magic it works like it's supposed to F-N-R. Unreal!
But I have another question for those reading.... One of the rivets that holds the rear steps to the frame is messed up and doesn't hold it up. Any ideas on how to to "score up" the rivet which seems to be rather hit or miss?
Soome of thr guys and gals will tell you how to do this the right way,,,,,,,,,,but I put a drop of super glue between the end of the steps and the frame and hold for a few seconds. Works well for me.
