I ordered my Nickel Plate Road GP35 #910 special run last night from Mr. Muffins Trains. The GP35 is a beautiful engine and one of Lionel's best running engines. I have many of them that run perfectly with the thinner traction tires. (Some GP35s originally had too fat traction tires that raised the wheel flange out of the switch frogs.)
The Nickel Plate Road GP35 #910 is the only GP35 that the NKP owned. Because it is a single engine, it probably got passed over by Lionel who has made three road numbers for most of the GP35s they made. I plan to run this engine with my new NKP GP9 that is currently available from Lionel.
Mr. Muffins needs a few more pre-orders to make this engine a reality. I did not have to make a deposit with my pre-order, so the money is sitting in my checking account until it arrives.
I included a picture from the web that shows the NKP GP35 #910 and an engine in the paint of the current NKP GP9s. Help make this project a success. Pre-order your engine today.
Sincerely, John Rowlen
