So i bought the MTH operating garage from one of your sponsors; I hooked up all the wires per the included instructions.  LED lighting works fine but when the switch is pressed, nothing...no movement or sound from the motor that drives the car/garage doors and no digital sounds.  I thought the switch might be faulty so i removed it and then just tried again by touching the two wires to the switch together, still nothing.   Since my ACC power is only 14V, i hooked it up to another variable transformer and tried it at 18V and still nothing.   I can return it, but if there is some easy troubleshooting to do prior I will try that.

anyone have experience with these things?

Thanks!

Show us your wiring.

Lights are completely separate internally from the action/sound. You have to apply power to no less than 4 terminals and then the trigger.

The manual

https://mthtrains.com/sites/de...ction/30as14665i.pdf

For testing motion and sounds, you can apply power only to A and B. Then a jumper wire A to C to trigger.

Lights are totally separate- D and E terminal. Applying power to them does not also power motion/sounds. They can be wired in parallel to the same source.

last- MTH has not used LED lighting on these- they are bulbs.

thanks for the replies.

i had the instruction sheet so i wired exactly as shown above; and i did the jumper as stated in lieu of the switch.  no movement or sound.

Trainz is going to give me a refund; i might stay away from the MTH motorized stuff like this (such as the car wash and the drive throughs) -- looking at past posts, it seems they aren't quite bullet proof
