Where can you buy one of these units. Everybody is sold out of them?

The word on the street is that MTH has done one last production run of the DCS remote. After they are gone, there will be no more produced. You might try ebay for a used one if you want to take a chance. Otherwise, moving forward, the only means to operate trains with DCS will be a smart phone or tablet as a replacement for the designated remote.
The TIU should still be available new, but the TIU/remote combo package is off the market. Others will no doubt add to this, but for operation with a phone, I think you will also need the Wireless Interface Unit or WIU in addition to the TIU.

I was under the impression that MTH shows the (re-engineered) hand held remote in the 2020 catalogs. Has a new item number because of some upgraded parts. Their website that is will be available in late Spring.
Someone who actually knows, please clarify.
The final production run is apparently still in process, I see Pre-Order.

And Trainworld says the same thing.
