Has anybody had problems with the old style 50-1032 cable. Is there a difference between the Cable posted on MTH product line today and original cable sold in year 2008.

Yes, there is an "official" Legacy version. I don't know the exact differences, but the older TMCC cable didn't work with the Legacy base.
The 50-1018 is the old TMCC cable, and the 50-1032 cable is the universal cable that works with either Legacy or TMCC command bases.
Make sure you connect it the correct direction, if it's connected backwards, it won't work.
It's clearly labeled TMCC/ Legacy to Base-1L and TIU to TIU port.
They must be internally the same. The latest, just a newer style. To be used with Legacy/Command or CAB-1L & Base-1L.
Just a note. When I replaced batteries in CAB-1L with new Energizers and still no fix. I remembered when I retired from the RR. I received a clock. It took only Duracell. I replaced with the Duracells and to make sure good contact, I bent the contacts a little. The Base-1L responded with all CAB-1L keys and reinstalled the engines. Now just to get the WIU work with Base-1L.
I think, I need to get the Frequency in sync with Base, Remotes & WIU.
Up-date: All engine except one operate together TMCC, DCS & WIU. Finally.
My Atlas O, TMCC engine will only operate in DCS. Because there is no Program/Run switch.
What would be the cost to up-grade to Legacy and add the Program/Run switch?

What do you mean it only operates in DCS? Is it a DCS upgrade? Atlas never made a DCS locomotive, so it it only runs DCS, it's an upgrade by someone after the fact.

When I first tried to run it on my layout it didn't run. I then tried it on my test track. It ran in the conventional mode. (No DCS). I returned it to the layout to see if it could be run in DCS under TMCC engine. It installed and ran on the DCS remote. I don't remember if I tried to install it on TMCC/Legacy when I purchased it.
Since I replaced my Wifi & solved that problem. I reinstalled all engines. The engine would only operate with the DCS remote.
Do you have the Legacy system or TMCC? If you have Legacy, the ONLY reason I can think of that a TMCC locomotive wouldn't run with the CAB2 and yet run with the DCS remote is you have it defined as a Legacy locomotive.
I have the Lionel CAB-1L & BASE-1L, Legacy Command control.
It would not register when I tried to install according to the manual. The engine has no PGM/Run or SND/No SND switches. I'am following the directions from Legacy manual.
Does the ID# of 1 only. Per Atlas O manual? Legacy engines ID#'s all come with #1. They suggest #'s 2 thru 99. I will try #1, I just assumed it would have to be in PGM and then Run.
If it's a TMCC locomotive, it has to have a PGM/RUN switch somewhere or you could never change it's address! As for SND/NO SND, that's an optional switch that doesn't do anything for function.
Look in the MTH engine configuration for that engine, it has to have a TMCC ID in order to run it. The same TMCC ID will run it from the CAB1L, of that I am certain!
It does NOT only do TMCC #1, of that I am certain as well. You're reading something into the documentation that isn't there. The factory default for most TMCC/Legacy stuff is to ship configured for TMCC #1, but you can change that. I suggest you look under the trucks on the chassis where Atlas hides it's switches, you'll find the RUN/PGM switch. I've worked on hundreds of TMCC/Legacy locomotives, and I've yet to get one without a PGM/RUN switch, and I don't ever expect to see one.
Your right there are switches. The holes in the chassis confused me where the letters were stamped. I literally needed small screwdriver to move switches below the trucks.
Between replies I disconnected the 50-1032 cable and power to the WIU and used ID#1 and the Cab-1L started and ran the engine. I should now be able install ID #s and run as the Lionel Legacy engines. I hope the WIU won't be a problem with the Atlas engine. It comes up the same as the others. Just didn't operate.
