MTH conventional and Proto 2 MU'd?

I have a MTH RS3 conventional and a MTH RS3 Proto-2 that I want to run back to Back. What is the procedure to doing this...or is it even posible? The conventional unit responds more quickly to start-up and directional change than the Proto-2, resulting in them moving at different times. Some times they start in different directions. Is the easiest solution to convert the conventionl unit into a non-powered unit by removing the motors?

MTH didn't make a non-powered unit in this road name (Rock Island).

MTH didn't make a non-powered unit in this road name (Rock Island).

MTH typically does not make non-powerewd units in the Rail King product line.

Barry, they did for the RS3 of other roads, like WM.

Rockyroad, only reasonable way to do it is remove the motors from one and make it a dummy. Or get a slave kit and convert the conventional.

If I recall correctly, there was s reset sequence for Proto-2 that turned off the cruise control. I never used it, so I don't know what the acceleration/deceleration characteristics of the locomotive would be in conventional operation.
