New to the forum, getting back to O gauge after long hiatus. Have a few MTH PS3 diesel locos and working on 8 x 12 foot around the wall layout, 6 manual switches, two interconnected loops. Since prices on MTH TIU/Remote are currently outrageous and the wTIU is still not out the only thing I could scrounge up was a DCS explorer that a friend was kind enough to give me so I can run some trains. I have a Z1000 as power source. I only plan on running 2-3 trains at one time, mostly 2. My question is can the z1000 power the 2 loops , do I need to get another Z1000 so that I have one for each loop? If I need 2 z1000s how do I hook up the DCS explorer. I apologize if this has been covered before but after searching I could not find answers to these specific questions.
Lastly if DCS explorer /Z1000 is working well, can I run 1 MTH engine with the DCS explorer and a Lionel Lionchief plus 2.0 powered by same Z1000 using Lionchief Universal remote
