From the latest MTH Technician bulletin.......
"PS2 Upgrade Kits
MTH made up all the PS2 kits we can at this time. If you need additional PS2 Upgrade kits, please put them on order. The next build of PS2 Upgrade kits is expected in August/September this year. MTH is looking to see if deliveries can be moved up. Should know more in a month or two."
Paul is that the same scenario as replacing a 5v board in a ps-2 with the 3v replacement? chief
Chief, No because MTH has typically reserved 3V boards for repairs, and the 3V boards with 5V connectors are a separate part.
You need the PS-2boards, the heat sink bracket, a 4 ohm speaker, a 3V battery and the battery charging harness/mounting kit
Chief, I have used many of the replacement boards and they work out great. The processor board is AE-0000016 and the power board is AE-0000015. If you are doing a GG-1 with operating pans, you need processor board number AE-0000018. If you go this way you will also need a 3 V speaker, battery and hardware kit.
I got notice last week my final three are being shipped. It was about a month wait then. So no more for a while I guess.
I just ordered a PS2 steam upgrade kit on line and got an email that it would go out in '"a month or two" so I am assuming they don't have them in hand but are expecting them.
Model Train Stuff (MB Klein) has 3 in stock now:

I'd buy one but I just don't have the funds right now
they had the steam kits 2-3 weeks ago and I missed out on them too.
Received my last three diesel upgrade kits today. Heard more will be available in September ....
