I cant believe i paid nearly $500 to get the WTIU, then the DCS app is requiring me to purchase an upgraded in app-service too access all the train sounds???? seriously??? Not only that, but the WTIU connection is constantly dropping, forcing me to go into reboot and do whatever I can to ensure it has a stable connection, despite my router being right next to it. Im seriously disgusted that they are trying to take more money by making spend another $30 on the app just to access all the sounds that should already be available when your purchase the TIU. Unbelievable.

Sorry you are having problems mine works flawlessly. i installed it, it updated i loaded my engines and ran my trains.

I only paid $ 359.00.

The range has never dropped, i even walked out to the garage about 125 ft and still no problem , i decided to connect a cat 5 cable to my router and i like that because i am still connected to my home system and the range on it exceeds my property limits.

i was concerned about liking the app but, after a brief period to adjust, i have to say i like the app over the remote. i will still get the USB adapter when it becomes available but probably will not use it .

So far the only downside" is the 2 minute bootup time

( more of    "a get use to it"    rather than a downside thing )

Are you able to run more than 2 trains on the app? the older TIU unit had no problem addressing multiple trains, but now even though the trains are added to the WTIU they are constantly popping up on the inactive engine. When I refresh it it might get popped up to active but then looses connection with the train

Excuse my ignorance...but, what are the two boards on the right in the photo?

PSX-AC electronic circuit breakers. The nice thing about the PSX series is both the speed of sensing a short VS load and the adjustable setting for different scenarios as far as trip current rating.

i am currently running 5 engines on 5 loops and i bet if i put more engines on the track it would recognize and run them. i have had no problems with the WTIU dropping engins to the inactive list.

Have you switched modes on the WTIU from home network, to MTH network, and then tried with your tablet or phone connected to the MTH network stood up when in MTH mode?

I'm not saying the device or app is perfect, but at the same time- your home network and it's router are in the mix. Changing this mode removes that set of variables from the total end to end system for troubleshooting.
