I believe I know the answer but thought I would ask anyway.  My MTH Premier E6 manual says to put smoke fluid in the exhaust stack of the A units.  Even shows a picture of the exhaust stack.  But, the exhaust stacks are sealed, there is no place for any fluid to go.  I think the fluid has to go into the small holes where the smoke actually comes out.  That seems to be working but thought I would check and see if I am correct in my assumption.

No, the smoke comes out of all 4 holes in each A unit.  I was just asking if that is where to put the fluid (I think that is the only place you can put it).  The manual that came with the set says to put the smoke fluid in the exhaust stack but the stack is sealed up, it is just a decorative piece.

Are you referring to the steam generator at the rear? The exhaust stacks are the dual sets of 4 holes that you say is where the smoke comes out. The Lionel E6 has a hatch that you remove from the shell for easy filling. Otherwise use a funnel and put the fluid in 1 of the 8 holes..... slowly as the funnel inside is shallow.

Just so you will not think I am crazy, I am attaching pictures from the manual I received with my E6  that was in the box.  I am also attaching a picture of the top of the A unit where the smoke holes are.  I have downloaded the manual off the MTH website that shows the correct place to put the smoke fluid.

Thanks to all of you for your comments and help.
