I believe I know the answer but thought I would ask anyway. My MTH Premier E6 manual says to put smoke fluid in the exhaust stack of the A units. Even shows a picture of the exhaust stack. But, the exhaust stacks are sealed, there is no place for any fluid to go. I think the fluid has to go into the small holes where the smoke actually comes out. That seems to be working but thought I would check and see if I am correct in my assumption.

Which E-6 is this? The older did have a straight through stack tube off the smoke unit, so filling where the smoke comes out would work. G
It is the new PS3 version.
Can you take a picture of the top of the Locomotive?
Do not have picture yet, but it is a 20-20343-1.
The picture shows 4 stack holes and load fluid in the 2 center. Are you saying only smoke comes out one hole and the other 3 are blocked?
They may use a funnel to let smoke come out more than 1 hole. Only way to know for sure is to open the unit and see the smoke unit set up. G
No, the smoke comes out of all 4 holes in each A unit. I was just asking if that is where to put the fluid (I think that is the only place you can put it). The manual that came with the set says to put the smoke fluid in the exhaust stack but the stack is sealed up, it is just a decorative piece.
You may have a defective loco.
If smoke comes out, fluid will go in
I would look one more time at the sealed area. You actually may be seeing the plastic piece that fits under all four stacks thats needed to distribute the smoke flow.

Thanks. The manual that came with the engine shows otherwise. That is why I asked the question. I think we can end this discussion. I got my answer.
That was were it was for the older PS-2 locos. The new PS-3 manual on the web show the 4 stack and recommends using the 2 center holes. Probably closer to the actual smoke unit stack. Weird you got an old manual in the box. G
Just so you will not think I am crazy, I am attaching pictures from the manual I received with my E6 that was in the box. I am also attaching a picture of the top of the A unit where the smoke holes are. I have downloaded the manual off the MTH website that shows the correct place to put the smoke fluid.
Thanks to all of you for your comments and help.
