Hi everyone. I ended up purchasing the MTH Factory ShowRoom Layout. I have been out the Columbia MD 3 times and will be going out one more time (January 17-18) to bring it back home in sections. Being 16x16 and not built to be removed, I had to cut it up into manageable sections, and they came out pretty good. I will post some pictures. See video below from my first trip out there to document the layout. Its not going to fit in my basement so I'm looking for some advice on how I might put the parts back together.

More videos and pictures to be posted soon.

Thanks, Craig

I hired a pro carpenter to meet my son and I at MTH. It was a combination of a circular saw (with a straight edge), jig saw, and saws-all. The side framework of the table was metal studs attached to the concrete floor with wood joists on top, so we had to use a grinder and saws-all on the metal part. We removed 100% of accessories, scenery (except for some trees on the mountains), and all track first. Unfortunately it has to be in my basement. I think I can fit the middle parts back together and then use the end parts elsewhere. Sort of like thinking of it as multiple dioramas and build around it.

Thanks Ron and Bob for your feedback and support. In order to move it, I have been out to MTH 3 times, and will be out there a 4th time next week.

Trip 1 : Documentation and Planning (to see what the heck I got myself into)

Trip 2 : Remove as much scenery as possible, all accessories, all track, catalogue and transport those items

Trip 3 : Hire a professional and cut into precise manageable sections and prep for transport

Trip 4 : Rent moving truck and or trailer and transport sections

MTH and Cabin Fever have been very understanding and supportive of what we need to do to preserve as best we can.
