I just put my new MTH Sd-70 on the track and when I asked DCS to read the track it identified the new loco as my old P&LE U-boat. It operated perfectly with the incorrect ID.
When I put the U-boat on the track alone DCS correctly read the U-boat. When I put them both on the track it reads neither.
Is this a fixable electronic anomaly or a worse, a self-esteem issue on the part of the SD-70???

They probably have the same address Try changing the U boat engine address and then add the SD70
Is the address the ID (SD-70) or the slot in which the hand held remote numbers the engine (engine slot #6, for instance.)?
Another thought is was this unit bought new or used from someone? They could have replaced the PS2 boards from a donor if there was a problem once. No big deal except for the name issue.
You did a READ instead of ADD ENGINE for the new SD-70??? Why? Were you intentionally trying to confuse the system?
