I was always was fond of the GP-38 RED, White & Blue Engine!  I know I have seen them on Ebay.  That Might be my next find!  Prefer a Railking model only because I have a 4x8 layout which is interested in expanding.  After that I hope, just hope that MTH comes out with the passenger Diesel Engines with double decker cars.

  • LIRR DIESEL: This would be cool!

Picked mine up a couple weeks ago, what a fantastic model. The colors were all spot on and really eye catching. Also, the horn truly sounds like a Long Island MP15. They really nailed the sounds.

The only thing is that (as everyone probably noticed) it does not have the MTA logos on the cab and front (although thankfully it does have the writing bellow them).

I added some to mine from Island Model Works and it looks pretty much perfect.

This was a fantastic model. All the exclusives have been fantastic, I already have the new blue and white GP38-2 on order.

  • LIRR MP-15: MTA decal addition

that would be great, but I'd like to see them do a Blue Wave C420 first, we'd have pretty much everything in those colors then.

I've been meaning to ask, what's the deal with MTH and the MTA logos? Why are they not allowed to use them? I remember their GP38 from 1999 or 2000 had the Ms on it (At least in the catalog picture) and I know all k-lines stuff did. Why is MTH not allowed to use them?
