My first MTH engine set, F3s ABA, set 20-2176-1. Engines never run, but my first ever MTH and Pro1 set. Seller wanted and needed cash bad, 200.00. Good Buy?
Should I put new battery in before powering up, or try to power battery in engine? Thanks

By all means replace the battery with a charged green one from MTH before applying power.

Also a good idea will be to read up on PS1 operation as it has some quirks but is otherwise an excellent conventional operating system with good sound.
Thank you. Probable the smart thing to do so no damage occurs from a bad battery. Ordered a new battery, be here Friday, so wait till then to see how she runs. Very impressed by the engine and detailing.

That is not a Railking but a premier. 20- numbers are the premier line, 30- numbers are Railking.
You did extremely well for $200 and there are 4 motors in the unit and the sound is great. I would not put a battery in it but rather a BCR so you can't ever get in trouble in the future. Enjoy

His is not railking but the full size detailed scale version. He did really well!
My mistake! I'd picked that set up too!!! Congrats on that score! Even the RK set is worth $200!
