I'd like to buy a MTH Premier AC-6 Cab Forward at some point. It's the last locomotive I wanted as a kid in the 90's (and obviously couldn't afford at that point). Before I even begin to consider buying one I was hoping someone who has one could measure the overhang on curves for me.
I've got a structural support for the elevated section of my layout that is adjacent to a 072 curve. My largest locomotive, a MTH Premier Santa Fe Texas clears it without issue. I'm concerned that the Cab Forward would have more overhang, so if I have the front and rear overhang measurements from the locomotive on 072 curves I can check and see if it clears.
Secondly to get the main line the locomotive would have to pass through a 054 switch leading out of the yard. Again my MTH Premier Santa Fe Texas does this without issue. If someone could check if their Premier Cab Forward goes through a 054 curve and what the overhang front and rear is I would also appreciate it. I did see a video of a Lionel scale AC-12 Cab Forward going around a 054 curve. It worked fine but there was a lot of overhang.
So long of the short is I need the front and rear locomotive overhang measurements, measured from the outside of the rail, on 072 and 054 curves (if it even goes around 054). No rush on measurements but thanks to whoever gets a chance.
