MTH Premier Madison car trips breaker; thoughts?

I would check the wire from the lighting to the pickup rollers and see if anything is rubbing against an axle or something.

Also check to see that the pick up roller isn't touching the metal truck when on track.  If the pick up is contacting something, put a piece of electrical tape above the roller.  I've had to do this with a few passenger cars.

I had the same problem. It was one of the wires for the lights.

Move them around a little. Try it, wiggle the wires a little more and try it again.

It's a short circuit.  Wiggling wires will only help temporarily, you need to track it down and eliminate it.  You will never regret investing in a multi-meter if you don't already have one.  The OGR store sells one at a very reasonable price:

Nothing is rubbing that I can see, and I can't see any metal-metal contact that isn't supposed to be happening.   Since these are new, it is a warranty issue, and I have a certified tech close by that should be able to slice it and dice it for me.   I agree that it's a short - the cut out is instantaneous as soon as I apply power.  Thanks!!!

Check the trucks....one of my Premier Woodsided passenger cars had the two springs and the screw that keeps the two sections of the truck in place come loose and it started all kinds of issues for me.
