Anyone know if MTH or anyone else will manufacture the RK Big Boy, (30-1129-1) motor mount, BI-1200002?
This is the one that has Zinc-Pest.

Did you ever find a motor mount. I am looking for one for my son.
They should be the same as all MTH diesels.
Probably did, that was 2-1/2 years ago.
I have been looking for one for awhile. If anyone has a spare that would be great. Part number
BI-1200002
Thanks
Rick
There's something different about the RK BB motor mount, I didn't think it was just like a diesel mount. If it is like a diesel one, I probably have one or two in my parts box. I just did an upgrade on the RK BB, but I wasn't looking at motor mounts as there was nothing wrong with them.

Search eBay I saw them there. I also got one from Mth last year.
That looks right, I remember the screws on the sides. I was pretty sure they were unique, but I think they're shared by a couple other MTH RK steam, maybe the Challenger?

You are correct! That sure isn't a diesel mount. Sorry.
Thanks for all the input. I will try e-bay. I did try MTH a year or so ago. It was listed as not available but listed a dealer that might have it. I reached out to them but no response. Rick
Well I looked on e-bay again and this popped up. I swear I have looked on here a dozen times with no luck. I ordered 2. MTH MOTOR MOUNT FOR ANY RAILKING ARTICULATED SERVICE CENTER REPLACEMENT PART | eBay Thanks for the help
Rick
Just curious, Have you guys tried a diesel motor mount? Would you be able to make modifications to the frame to make it work? Both are stamped steel.
How would a diesel motor mount work? Most MTH diesels have a motor mount casting that looks like this.
How would that replace this?
The link in my last post shows what I ordered. They are suppose to be for steam and specifically mention the BB. Anyway I ordered 2. Here is a picture from his ad.
That certainly looks like the mount, it has the two screws on the side. The diesel mounts don't have those "ears".
Since this cast part is not available, I would consider the possibility of making this a steel fabricated part. I would check with a local machine shop if they can make this as a fabrication and the cost to make it, if the cost is individually prohibitive I would contact the other Forum members who are seeking this part and maybe you can pool this order. The material cost to fabricate one or more assemblies should be minimum, the drafting time to make the fabrication drawing and direct shop labor are a sunk cost for one or more fabrications, i.e., the more you order the unit cost will decrease. The machine shop will need the zinc rot part for reference to cost estimate the fabrication.

What does the frame look like? My question is: Could the frame be modified to accept the diesel mount?

This mount goes in from the bottom of the frame.
You need the ears to keep the motor from falling out.
Even if you did frame work, you would have no guarantee it would align the worm gear correctly in the truck. MTH did you a few different Diesel mounts too. Let alone how they handled RK Articulate and some Electrics. G
Thanks for the link to the exploded view. It will help getting it together.
Auction Number: 324237732308, that will speed the search.
I did get them. I got them in last weekend and they work great. It looks like the old one's swelled up and got too tight and would not articulate and broke. It was almost like they soaked up the oil and became brittle and swelled up. Anyway got it all back together only to find the control board is bad. Tried resetting it but not much luck. I think we are going to convert it to tmcc. Plan on getting my son Matt the Legacy controller for his birthday anyway.
