With the popularity of NS's beautiful F9's and the Business Train in all scales, it strikes me as odd that Lionel never produced these. Especially with the high demand for MTH's DAP set from some years back. Did they lack a licensing agreement or such? They would have sold a boatload of 'em...

And WBB did make a set of F units!
Maybe, Lionel just didn't want to.

Should it be: Lionel miss the TRAIN on this one!

Yes, they did as well as MTH did in the Railking Scale line. All sold well it would seem.
A set of Legacy units would have been a winner too!
I thought the same over the last couple years. So much that I mentioned it to Lionel at their booth at the last 4 York meets. I tried to let them know that the market was out waiting for Lionel. They said they would discuss it in there new product meetings. I quit talking about it. They will probably bring it out years down the road when all the other companys have filled our need for these beautys. Dave Nichols
I agree it was a blown opportunity for Lionel . I bought the original DAP MTH Premier set. I still can't believe that MTH didn't take the F-3 in their Ready to Run Sets and offer a Norfolk Southern Business Train.

I'm still waiting for MTH to do the theater car as an add-on Observation car. I bought an extra coach and may cut the end off and make one myself - someone here already did a nice one.
