I was wondering if the Electo Motive SD70ACe demonstrator shown on page 84 of the 2014 Vol 2 catalog as 22-20430-2 (scale wheel version) will be available in more than one road number. I can't seem to find any information even on the MTH web site. When I do a search for the item number no results come up. Does anyone know?

Have you tried an eMail directly to MTH? My guess would be, if the catalog shows only one item number for only one road number, then MTH will be offering only one road number.
First, I think there are many if not all the 2014 v2 catalog items that have not yet been posted on the MTH website, maybe why you can't find it yet? I have tried to look up a few myself and have found none so far.
I'm 3 rail, but the Premier diesels I have ordered in the last couple years have had multiple road numbers under the same part number. I looked up the 2 rail version of one I ordered from the 2014 v1 catalog and it has 3 road numbers just like the 3 rail version. It was a 22-20382-2, unfortunately the 2 rail version was cancelled. The 3 rail version was a 20-20382-1, and as you can see it was offered in the same 3 road numbers.
I know what assuming does, but past offerings have had more than 1 road number so I would think the coming ones would as well. I've only ordered one engine of each type and have not yet tried to order a specific road number (or multiples), just took what ever it came in as, so I don't really know how to do that. May have to ask your LHS or MTH dealer.
Email to MTH, as stated above, may be a way to find out, but I have not had good luck emailing MTH. Never got a reply to any I have sent.
WJP ... It states on the item page that each roadname will come in 3 different numbers ...
The blue EMD demonstrator had multiple numbers in the prototype (#1202, #1203, #1204, #1205, #1206 and #1207). The Caterpillar Demonstrator unit (#1201) was a "one-off" celebrating Caterpillar's acquisition of EMD (I'm ordering this one, but I'm tempted to order one of the other ones as well). Hopefully there will be enough pre-orders so the scale-wheeled versions aren't cancelled.

Anyone looking for MTH GM 72 it's a non-power unit??
Hmmm, look at the rear intakes on the body of #1204 and #1206. I thought all the blue EMD versions would be the same?

That may be camera angle, or the intakes may have adjustable louvers. Not sure.
I sent an inquiry to MTH yesterday (Saturday). I'll see if I get a response this week. Thanks to everyone for your replys.
The catalog states "where prototypical" so I would say yes. I'm getting the scale wheels version of the EMDX 1201, it would be really cool if MTH could capture the metallic finish at the fron of these units!
I received a reply from MTH:
Thank you for contacting MTH Electric Trains. We appreciate your interest in our products. The new catalog items have not yet been added to the online database but this engine will be available in three cab numbers, 1202, 1203 and 1204.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else I can help you with.
Thank you,

A lot of those blue SD70ACe demo units are now on the CN in a patched scheme. 8100 series.
Mike, I saw those online the other day and I was going to Post about them. I can see MTH offering them like they did with the CN (IC) Dash 8 units.
Santiago,
That would be awesome if MTH offered them with CN markings. I'm sure if won't be long before they are in full CN paint as well!
Mike:
Do you know if Canadian National bought those units or if that's a temporary re-numbering?
Matt,
Fairly sure those are now on the CN roster. I suspect it won't be long before they are repainted into the CN livery. They seem to be investing more in AC traction motors in their diesels. I like the 2800 series ES44AC's as well!
