MTH is a great company and you need to call MTH service and see if they may of had an issue with these. It is easy to change the sound set on any PS-2 engine. There is always a sound set that is close but maybe not exact that will work for this unit. We change sound sets all the the time for our customers. If you are close to our store bring it in and we will change your sound set for you in a few minutes at no charge. We will also check your speaker and volume pot.

In 2011, I purchased an MTH ES44AC from an out of town dealer.  Most of the Evolution Series engines by GE are equipped with Nathan K5HLL horns.  My MTH engine horn is no where NEAR the prototype.  I live close to a CSX main, and hear these engines many times a day, and wish mine sounded like that.  If I had heard my MTH horn before purchase, I wouldn't have bought it.

Interesting, Dale; to say the least.  Thank you, I'm marking this for future reference.
