As a Lionel fan, I can't necessarily address the MTH issue, but hopefully this info helps. As an old NYC subway rider, I can tell you that the B and D lines on what used to be called the Brighton Line and the 4 train on the Lexington line all go to the Stinkee Stadium/161st Street stop (sorry... I'm a life long Mets fan!!!). In addition, Metro North runs special trains to some Yankee games, and I know Lionel made a newer M7 train.

Are you interested in what runs there today, or in years past? To add to what Paul said, I believe the car types used today are R-142/R-142A and R188 on the Lexington line, and R-68/R68-A on the B and D. I generally commute on the D and R (N or N and D at night, unless there's track work, then I start with the 4 and.....)

Edit: this is the D on my way to work at the other end of the line, a stop north of Coney Island. I could swear I heard "Popeye" Doyle careening under the tracks in a commandeered car.

In terms of the MTH models, the original (Proto 1 equipped) subway set, which was the D Train does have a call out for Yankee Stadium, i believe. R-42 blue stripe set.
I am not sure if there have been others calling out Yankee Stadium since then, but I'm pretty certain that one does.

I'm a Motorman for MTA NYC Subway for 4 years now and Own almost EVERY NYC Subway Set MTH has produced since 1998; Missing a few Lo-Vs, thats all... lol. I operate the D Train religiously for over 2 years now, and yes, the D Train stops at Yankee Stadium (Except Am Rush Hours to Manhattan and the PM Rush to 205 St When the Yanks are not at home) , B (weekday rush hours only) and the IRT 4 Train all stop at Yankee Stadium.
In terms of the MTH Subway Models, you have the following that mention Yankee Stadium as a station, but not as a destination:

I have just one MTH subway set. It actually belongs to Wendy...her very first train set which was purchased just a few weeks ago. When we test-ran it on Dave Minarik's Mercer Junction shop layout, I do seem to recall it calling out Yankee Stadium as one of the destinations...could be wrong about that, though. Wendy loves New York and its subways (and her MTH set), so I'm going to have to find a way to incorporate it on the new layout I'm planning for the new/old home I took possession of on Monday. It is a ranch-style home with a full basement, so you can imagine what that space will be devoted to.
I forget the product number of the set I got for Wendy (it is in temporary storage with ALL my trains), but it is not on the list that Zach posted here.

If I recall correctly, I remember one of the early MTH sets say's Yankee Stadium on the front of the first car.
Perhaps it was pictured in the catalog like that? However, Yankee Stadium isn't a real terminal or the final destination on the real signs like, Coney Island or Times Square would be.

I know that MTH produced a set of Subway Series themed trains for the Mets and Yankees which were based on two cars that were actually in service. The fronts of the trains said "Fan Trip" and World Series. I bought the 2-car add on packs only and both the Mets and Yankees cars were numbered 2000.
Eddie, here is a picture of my "Subway Series" set. Bought it long ago since it was running on my layout in the other house (taken down in 2003 when we moved). This picture is more recent (winter 16-17) on the layout I started in 2011 with Mianne Benchwork.

"Motorman" is gender specific and politically incorrect; "Train Operator" is non-gender specific, derives from the title "Elevator Operator" and is politically correct. Years ago, transit oriented hotshot LIRR managers delighted in referring to their Locomotive Engineers as "Horizontal Elevator Operators". It must have caught on.
Frank Sprague, inventor of "multiple unit" (MU) technology, based his invention on his experience in the elevator business. The invention was showcased on equipment of the Intramural Railway at the 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago. The technology remains in use, today, with electronic enhancements and can be seen in action almost anywhere trains run.

BlueLine, I used to answer the phone, "Rapid Transit, Holmes speaking." during my years in the Forgotten Boro. My fellow employees decided that should be my one socially acceptable nickname (as opposed to the others) and it gave them yet another fully justified humor opportunity at my expense.
Somehow the NYCTA upper management decided that "Locomotive Engineer" was sexist but couldn't explain why. The only explanations I could come up with were that the title was ennobling rather than degrading, relative to the title of "Motorman", or that they were driven by mental illness. They tried mightily to change the title but we held fast.
Thank you Benny for letting me know OUR title at work; Utilization of the REAL name for our line of work is what I prefer to state, rather then the updated, *Train Operator* title.

someone once told me that the reason TA sticks to train operator ,is cause the women who are train operators now in the system . sexist
also TA doesnt want the title engineer , cause then the pay rate of TO would have to increase , due to engineers union rules,
