I searched by part number (1026-X002R1) and by model (Berkshire...I think Hudson might be the same), but still no luck.

The only ones I could find were by using keyword "traction" brings up 4 types of tires or "tyres"; 3-HO & 1-N.

I could have sworn I read a post where someone recommended a suitable MTH replacement for Williams, but can't seem to find the thread now.

Anyone recall hearing of this?

Thanks,

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply, and I apologize for hi-jacking on your thread.

That's exactly what I was hoping to do...find the correct size MTH tire to use on this other brand (Williams Berkshire).

I was hoping that maybe since the Railking Berkshire is also semi-scale (I think), that the replacement tire for your RK Berkshire (DE-0000025) might also work on a Williams, and/or maybe someone on the forum knew of a suitable replacement?

I probably just need to mic the drive wheel diameter on this WBB 2-8-4 and go with one from the MTH chart, but from my searching it seems folks use a tire size (diameter) that is a good bit smaller than the actual wheel.  Wasn't sure if this was because the groove is a smaller diameter than the face of the wheel, or just so they fit tight as you suggest.

Also was not sure how far to undersize traction tire given the diameter, if necessary (e.g. would a 25mm wheel use a 25mm tire or 22mm or even 18mm)

Kinda goes along with Al W.'s question, which diameter is being given in the chart (the wheel face or the groove)?

I know there is another traction tire thread going at this time, so I thought I would add this question on to one of the two threads that seemed more relevant.  Hope you don't mind me asking this on yours.

Thanks,

Robert
