MTH website says the Wabash FM trainmasters from the 2012 v2 catalog have been delivered. Anyone have them yet? Mine (all 3 road numbers) are on their way from Ready-to-Roll, but not here yet.

Harold:
I just received my CNJ TM so I would assume you'll be getting your Wabash units any time now.
Bob
thanks! there are some good pictures on MTH's Facebook page.
wabash trainmasters now arrived along with ann arbor rs1. all look great!
HCLARKE. I had two diesels waiting when I got home from work. MTH FM-Trainmaster, Wabash, & a SD70 ACE. D&RGW UP Heritage Series. Both are very nice. No manual anymore, need to get it off web sight. Having problems finding controls on SD70. Don't see them on the botton and can't find anything on top to remone. MTH Web sight is my next stop.
Both were from Ready to Roll.
My local hobby shop, Berwyn's Toys and Trains, had the Wabash and the Virginian MTH Train Masters last Saturday (Jan 12). They look excellent! I'm waiting for MTH to offer the FM Demonstrators and the SP "Black Widow" versions.
Steve, the control switches are below the rear radiator section, they snap off.
We picked up ours today in Cincti.... Pictures tomorrow....

Thank's Chuck. Will try again. I'm having a hard time getting it off. The Trainmaster came off easy. I'm going to run them both tonight.
I got my locomotive last week and it is alredy in service. A fantastic job by MTH. Out of the box it was a great runner.
Is the Virginian Trainmaster yellow and blue or yellow and black? I can't tell from the picture in the catalog.

A question for anyone who puchased one of the newly released FM Trainmasters. Was a plow included? Thanks!
Steve
No plow.
A very nice job on the Wabash 554...Phase II body, lowered end platforms, accurate headlight configuration and set up for short hood forward operation.
Bob
Thanks! I thought maybe I got shorted. I wonder why they decided not to include one? I have an older MTH SP that came with a matching grey plow. I thought it looked pretty cool.
Son of a PRR Man:
Having poured over many hundreds of Train Master photos, the only prototype TMs I've been able to verify equipped with plows were SP's units which had them mounted at the short hood end.

Why would you want a plow when the real ones didn't have plows?
Here's ours - finally unboxed today.... I only bought the one and now I am thinking about a second.... Very nice....

These new Trainmasters are the cats meow. I told Mike I hear many guys wishing MTH would do a demonstrator set like Lionel did years ago.

They would be a good addition.....
glad to hear you guys like the wabash fm trainmasters. hope sales are good and Mike will do wabash f7.
I got the Lackawanna version, from the first run of MTH's new Train Masters; it came PS 2 equipped and didn't have a plow, either.
Benchmark models these new MTH Premier Train Masters.

This new shipment includes a Canadian Pacific version; a little history for CP fans.

We have the MTH Lackawanna Trainmaster pair as well, and Reading too.... Here's our Lionel pair - they have been busy since the day we finished laying the track on this level....

Just about purchased a Lionel Wabash Train Master, a few years ago; but didn't know what they looked like? Those Lackawanna units are probably the same models as the Wabash Train Masters, that were offered...
The fans spin on those, right?
Very nice!

The last remaining Trainmaster prototype is CPR 8905 which is at the Canadian Railway Museum in St. Constant, Quebec, just south of Montreal. This is the largest collection of Canadian locomotives and rolling stock and worth a visit if you are ever in Montreal. There is a CPR Royal Hudson there as well among many other fine engines.

The CLC referred to in Rick's historical link is the Canadian Locomotive Company which was located in Kingston, Ontario but no longer in existence. My grandfather worked there and as a child I remember the steam engines going down the middle of Ontario street which was the only way to get into the factory. They had the license from FM to produce Trainmasters in Canada. CPR was the only railway in Canada to order and operate them. Canadian National Railways tested one (CNR 3000) but returned the FM demonstrator after trial runs.
I was wondering why MTH produced the CPR FM version again but realize now that it has an upgraded shell.
Mike
The Wabash issue imo is the nicest of the latest batch. Waiting for MTH to do this model in Rio Grande and D&H...

The Wabash has a "Mars"headlight and different marker lights than the Lackawanna plus the Legacy system is an improvement over the TMCC. Fred

That CN livery would look nice on MTH's new Train Master. Some interesting pictures of Canadian equipment; nice and gritty rail scenes, too.
audi,
The radiator fans, at the top of the long hood, on the Lionel Train Masters, are powered, yes?
Rick
Great pics guys! Very nice looking model!
love those Canadian trainmasters. Hope Mike makes them. Will be running my Wabash trio tomorrow!
Just bought one yesterday at my local hobby store. Canadian Pacific Trainmaster. Had to pay cash to get a good deal and keep it off the Family Books. No paper trail, no problem!

What a brute!
My first HO diesel was a N&W Trainmaster made by Athearn, always liked that engine, didn't know these things had submarine diesels in them.
Were the N&W TMs repainted from the Wabash engines? I see MTH offered them in N&W in the 2005 (RailKing I think) catalog, what's the differences between the RK model and these as far as detail? I take it the fan area for one.
Anybody made a video yet? I'd like to hear what they sound like.

N&W's Train Masters were former Wabash and Virginian units.
Bob
Thanks Bob, that makes sense
