Today, Jan 1st is the wife and I annual oil the rolling stock day while watching Tournament of Roses parade and some football game if needed.

As we unpacked MTH cars, oiled, verified its on the list, then repacked, I insured that the orange MTH warranty card (in its plastic envelope) was placed in the box.

Of course I can see registration for engines, but do you bother for non powered rolling stock?  Obviously I don't, as the car either works or doesn't.  And if a problem should turn up such as zinc rot or bad plastic, the one year warranty will have long expired.  And besides, upon examination, the warranty is really all about marketing information and demographics.

So do you waste a 49 cent stamp to send these cards in to MTH?

As far as I have ever seen a receipt is all you ever need. In fact think of it this way, when you send something in for repair, what do they ask for? It's not the card it's the receipt.

I think most of those warranty cards are just to gather marketing info, I'd like to hear otherwise. But if you really want to send them in I would just put them all in one envelope and save some money on postage
