Hi I wonder if any one can tell me why the smoke comes from under neath and hardly out of the smoke stack

Mine does the same thing.
I pulled it a part and the piston inside
is pretty sloppy. don't know if it was designed that
way or not. It sure does make you wonder...
I hope someone knows that answer....
I think that the piston is just to loose my self and the loco has a slight wobble
I'm glad that mine is not alone
Stewart763: You might check and see if the smoke unit does not have a felt gasket on top next to the boiler smoke stack. It should be there to seal the end of the smoke unit to the boiler stack. If it is missing, then you will have to get one or fashion one to seal the space/gap. Another item to look at is to see if the top of the smoke unit has not popped off. In several cases I have seen the top circular cap come off and the smoke unit is open to the inside of the boiler allowing the smoke to waffe inside and little out the stack. Hope this helps. Thank you. I did not see a gasket between the top and bottom of the stack
I just thought that the piston was just to small and loose in the cylinder
I will strip it down and make a short video then perhaps all may be riveald/seen
That's just the no-extra-cost optional Steam Chest function. I'd be surprised to learn of the ones that don't do it!!
