My first PS3 diesel arrived and it is a CSX dash8 premier diesel. The paint and finish are outstanding.
Detail is top notch, lots of separate grab irons, painted detail, etc.
Sound is also very good, deeper, and more prototypical IMO.Horn and bell are also very good. On par with Lionel Legacy? Maybe not but very very close.
No more swoosh when the couplers open but allot of clanking of metal, IMO it sounds better
Smokes up a storm as is a MTH trademark.
I found no issues with this engine at all, It runs and looks great.
I will buy MTH again if this is the standard, I am impressed.
BTW for all CSX fans, the dash8 in the presidential scheme is coming this week from MTH, it will look good with my other one.
