Here are some photos of my recently scratchbuilt version of Frank Ellison's Oblong Box Company that appeared in the December 1952 issue of Toy Trains magazine.  It is made of corrugated wood siding from Micro Mark with Tichy windows and doors and a Grandt Line smokestack. The other details are from my scrap box.   The roof is masking tape over cardboard and then painted black.  I altered the dimensions slightly to fit my space and also made the building to fit over a siding instead of a spur as Frank did.  It is 11 1/4" l x 7 1/4" w x 8 3/4" h.  The name Sperry Electrical Supply comes from the Sperry Gyroscope Company where my father worked as an electrician.  It was a fun build.

Great looking structure and some nicely done ground cover as a base.

I also model the fall. I tried my hand at painting a backdrop. I think I got the colors right. I just made the trees to dominant as far as size.  I liked the look of Marty McGurk’s HO CV layout on You Tube where the painted backdrop blends well with the scenery. Your 4th photo shows a nice looking backdrop. Any chance you could post a photo of it.
