Nice pictures.  I was in a model railroad club that had an O traction line.  One of the members was a signal maintainer for Erie RR and explained the operation and detail of the Nachod signals.  He also built a few out of brass for the layout.  He was a craftsman who would file out his own gears.  Wish I had one of those models now.  I have been thinking of making a pattern and casting a few myself. 


And for those who are interested....

The Nachod signal was designed to protect the entrance and exit from double track going to single track operation.  When a trolley approached, the signal checked for opposing traffic and if there was none, the operator would get a white signal to enter the single track territory.  Upon his entrance, the signal at the opposite end would turn red preventing any head on collisions.

 

Probably more than anyone wanted to know.
