that's the stock, fan driven smoke unit. It really puts out a cloud. I did repack it using the lionel rope style wick and Mike Regan's method of first separating the strands a bit and then just balling it up.
The unit didn't require any enlarging of the air holes and it didn't have the resistor sleeve that sometimes causes issues.
We have a PWC 773 of about the same vintage (2005?) and it smokes the same way.
