Still a long delay loading the new site. Once I am in, I can navigate very quickly.
QUESTION: why are so may products "grayed out"? Does this mean the item is out of stock?
I am looking forward to receiving the Lionel Nathan's Hot Dog boxcar (ordered from your new site yesterday) and the Lionel Halloween passenger station (ordered by phone when the website wouldn't let me check out on the first day the new site went live online).

Fastest shipping ever! Received two orders NEXT DAY from the time that I placed the orders!!!! One order I had to call in (check out on the new site wasn't working at that time but it is now). The second order went thru on the new site without any glitches at all.
The new site does load... it just takes about half a minute. Once you get in, there are no delays navigating or searching for products. Check out works fine too.
I just tried to pre-order the MTH LIRR RS, I got as far as check out and during the payment processing (CyberSource), it just kept loading with only the following on the page:

No idea whether my pre-order was processed or not.

Just got in to your site after 30 seconds using the OGR link. Once in, it navigated fine.
This is the opening delay that I was talking about. It opens, you have to wait 30-40 seconds for the initial page to appear. Be patient, it'll come.
Charlie, I just went to your site from my computer at home. My internet service at home is VERY fast. It took 52 seconds for your home page to load! That is WAY too long.
The page starts to load, then stops for a while before finally finishing the page load and displaying the page. Something is wrong on the server or the home page is trying to load too many things in the background before the page displays.
That's been there since the upgrade Rich. I think they must have a hosting issue, because once the site loads, it runs fine.
That's a shame, as they are such a great store and OGR sponsor.
They should change hosting companies asap, or just go with Microsoft Azure.
hello all...... I just now tried going to website using chrome and 3 seconds tops and there it is fully loaded.
so whatever you folks did it is now loading quickly for me.
Yep, I think they beat the hosting company into submission, it loads on the spot now.

Works great now. I'm also happy to see that they have eliminated those dreadful endless dropdown menu chains. I would often run out of screen as they continued further to the right, if I could get that far before loosing them.

Whatever you guys did last night seems to have solved the initial home page loading issue. The site looks very professionally done.

Either that, or it was a matter of simply providing too much content or overly-bloated javascript or plugin coding installed on the primary page that was slowing it down that needed trimming.
At any rate, I too have noticed the main page loading much faster now. Overall looks very good.
Charlie can you find out if MTH is going to make the Interstate RR RS3 diesels or not? They have officially cancelled the Rock Island and Nickel Plate versions.

I just tried re-visiting the main page again; loaded up in just under 3 seconds for me using FireFox. Haven't tried it in Internet Exploder or Chrome yet.

My experience differs greatly from yours. Other sites present no issues whatsoever. But Nassau Hobby has always proven frustrating for me.
Just tried it, 9 seconds from clicking the link to the home page painted. Not great, but not bad. Also, once you're in, you move right along, I don't see any delays navigating within the site.
If your experience is much worse, I would suggest that maybe it's not their site, but something about your computer configuration and/or your ISP.
Just tried again, too. It did perform as you claimed...fro awhile. Soon bogged down while navigating through the site.
I can not deny that my computer may have issues. However, and may I reiterate, this experience exist only on this site.
