Hats off to the National Capitol Trackers for that layout at York!
Having done that show twice I must say their layout is what I had wanted to accomplish!
Well done folks!

Thanks to NCT for another job well done!
Really enjoyed the configuration, especially the way that they had areas where visitors could step inside rather than just walking around the perimeter.
Agreed, that layout was phenomena! I dropped $5 in their donation bin to show my appreciation for their effort.
I could not get over that HUGE Hellgate bridge! That has to be quite a task to assemble and move (along with everything else!)
I think one of the members mentioned that it was actually a combination of 2 layouts set up, but I did not trace the trains' routes to fully understand the track plan.

Very nice guys! I especially liked the Civil War battle scene.
Skip, +1 on the Civil War Scene!

This was not a combination of two layouts. This was one layout designed specifically for York. The outside loop which traversed the entire length of the layout and folded over itself twice was over 300' of track. The Trackers have two sets of equipment, power cabinets, corners, skirt, clamps, etc, both sets were used to support this effort.
Thank you to those that supported us with their generosity.

There were many nice scenes built into their layout. I especially liked the steel mill and compressor built plant scene that was scratch built. As previously stated the Hellgate Bridge was immense. Really great looking layout and a nice bunch od model rail roaders. I was glad they were there!
It was amazing.......obviously, my favorite part was their rendition of Richmond's Triple Crossing!
Really cool, guys......thanks!!!!!!!

I was very impressed. They put up a first class railroad and ran it well. Job well done.
I found myself just enoying the traffic on the grade in the front right for about 20 minutes straight!
Hats off to this group and their layout! It was amazing and interesting to view. They get an attaboy and well done from me.
Well Done Guy's. It was very impressive.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and enjoyed it. The most commonly asked question was definitely how long it took to set it up... the answer is 24 hours. It came down in three. I think the second most popular question was how we went up and down. We have a graduated leg set to go down to 31" from 40", and we go up by sleeving a PVC pipe around a leg and holding the level by clamping a c clamp to the leg which rests on the pipe. I saw a lot of people lifting skirts and checking that out.
That layout was about a year in the making, and about 6 months of almost every weekend in my garage building new corners, working on the yard, building "Richmond" and amping up some scenery. Even after it was setup, was full of operational challenges. Surprisingly, I don't think we lost too many traction tires though.
I'd also like to thank Jason from MTH for taking some time away from the booth to come down and take a look at some things for us, and to Jim Elster at Scenic Express, for graciously providing us with some scenery modules for the corners.
Thanks for an amazing display!! I appreciated the under the skirt view$%%&. to show how incredibly simple it is to have the layout traverse multiple levels. I know its an effort but hope you all display at York again.
That was something to see, biggest modular layout I've ever seen! It was quite an effort to put all that together I'm sure!
Really enjoyed it! Great display - thanks!
Glad I got to see it very nice.
