Almost makes me wish I modeled standard gauge, just to do that.

Okay, for certain you can see the photo as I attached it to my last post!
Yep, I didn't notice as you didn't put it in-line. That is a good idea for flatcars, and I have a couple of old RailKing boilers that I could probably stick on the flatcars.
