I am completing repairs to a Lionel NYC Mohawk 6-18009. The engine is one of the early releases with a Pullmor motor and piston type puffing smoke unit with piston steam effects. The engine was converted with a Digital Dynamics/TMCC system by someone else unknown to me. I have repaired a broken winding in the motor and rebuilt the smoke unit. While the engine now runs fine both conventionally and with TMCC, the smoke unit is only receiving 5 volts from the Digital Dynamics board and it appears all the outputs only provide 5 volts. I lack and have been unable to find a wiring diagram/instructions for the D.D. system and I'm hoping someone has that information. The replacement heating element in the smoke unit is 27 ohm and it smokes like crazy connected to track power, but I fear too much, a short life span, and no way to turn On and Off with that hookup. The D.D. system is using an R2LC08.

Any information much appreciated!

There are  a few sticky threads the each forum. If you click on the "Lionel TMCC and Legacy" link you will see the sticky threads for this forum. One of the sticky post has TMCC documentation.

Here is a link to that post:

Look at the end of the first page for a post by gunrunnerjohn  with Digital Dynamics documentation. The information may be in that documentation.

John,

Your suggestion that it might have been miss programmed proved correct. I reprogrammed using 74 for steam and now I have the correct power feeding the smoke unit. I pick up quite a few repairs approaching the holidays and the "other person" conversions always prove to be the most challenging. Thanks for your help!
