Need help with PS2 flickering lights

I have a MTH PS2 most likely a 5v board. it is Camelback steam engine. I am having issues with the headlight and firebox light. at slow speed the lights flicker a bit. Also it might be unrelated , but the chuff sound continues when the engine is at full stop. Other wise the looco runs great

any thoughts
