Need help with remounting the vertical can motor in a LionMaster Big Boy | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a Lionel 6-11149 Legacy LionmMaster Big Boy (UP # 4006). This engine has dual vertically mounted worm drive motors (see pic below.) I dropped the front truck on that engine because it was dragging a little at very slow speeds, but when I reassembled it the motor-to-truck fit is so tight that it hardly runs at all before binding up completely. Any suggestions?

John, the gears are not meshed properly. When reinserting the motor jiggle the flywheel as you push the motor into place. After fully inserted spin the flywheel to make sure the gearing in in mesh. It should be smooth. Then tighten the screw. Good luck.
