What MTH uses an 18 volt bulb?
What is the bulb for? Steam or diesel or GG1? There are different voltages, unless you want to connect it to track power.
I don't know any headlight bulbs that run on 18v. The power from the track is reduced by the innards of the engine. You can order them from MTH.

Most if not all Protosound1 locos use 18volt bulbs. 0-8-0's and SW switchers and many others use an 18volt grain of wheat bulb. 3.00 each + mail

I thought the drive from the PS/1 boards was really low, like a 1.5V bulb. I know I smoked a couple I was doing TMCC conversions on when I connected them to 12V!
The bulbs that run directly off track voltage would obviously be higher voltage.
I believe one of the ones I found the 1.5V bulbs in was a PS/1 trolley. PS/2 has the 6V bulbs, are you sure that's not what you're thinking of?
OK, I got carried away. SOME PS-1 loco's use 18volt bulbs
6 volt bulbs in PS-1 locos are used for cab lighting. They have a separate consatant voltage board.
I have MTH F3A with PS1 it uses 18 volt bayonet bulbs but i use 14 volt in mine. I have for 6 years with no problems
I run all led's lights on my trains..stay light no dimming.
