I have a few engines that need attention and I am never going to get around to figuring them out.  With the current era of mth I am afraid to admit I don't know who really does repairs anymore.

I have a tinplate 263e with ps2 that I bought second hand.  The original owner must have left it powered up for forever.  The tether wires burned up.  I got parts but never got it reassembled.

I have a ps-1 GP9 with dead electronics, ( I think the cap blew out - heard a pop)  I would like to get this upgraded to ps3.

I have a Williams gp9 conversion project with ps2 that got probably 80% done and was never finished.

I hate having these dead in the water projects sitting around knowing I am never getting them done.  I am looking for someone who is taking on these projects and wrapping them up.  Can someone please point e to the right person to help untangle my messes?

thank everybody- JHZ

JHZ, it might help to specify your location.  I believe you’re in PA; how about Gunrunner John at Hennings Trains in Lansdowne, PA?

As an alternative, I’ve had great experience with a technician in Central MA.  He’s done five PS3 conversions for me (including K- line and Atlas engines) plus a bunch of repairs and his fee is very reasonable.  Assuming you won’t be driving to MA (but we’d like to see you!) you could ship your engines to him.

If interested, let me know and I’ll email his info.

Just my two cents, but I practically ruined a LTI 746 Space Freight locomotive when trying to fix the drive wheels that had come loose. After botching it up further with English dimension-ed post war parts and LTI metric parts, and drilling out the locomotive frame for new bushings cocked at an angle from true perpendicular to the frame,  I FINALLY came to my senses and took it to The Train Doctor in Tinton Falls, NJ! You can find him on the web. His team repairs, upgrades all MTH and LTI and Lionel pre-, post-, and modern era trains. He was fantastic and brought my N&W 4-8-4 J-class back to life. Tell him Johnny O sent you.

Hi John:

I and perhaps other New Englanders would appreciate info about a "technician in Central MA".  Please either post them here or contact me via the email shown in my profile.

Thanks very much.

Steve and JHZ, I received permission from my tech to post his contact info.  I think it's important to respect people's privacy, so I wanted to touch base with him first.

His name is Al Juzukonis; he lives in Oxford, MA.  His email is aljuzuk@gmail.com com and his phone is 508-277-5026.  I think you guys will be happy with his work.

John

Absolutely - its so easy to post anyones info out there so it is important to consider the consequences for that individual!  FYI he is also listed on the NETCA website here: https://www.netca.org/member-sales/services
