Never run 2005 MTH Premier F3 set, Remote won't add?

The first thing to do is to put it on a test or separate track and try adding it from there.  After that, the guys will suggest a ton of things.....

imo, a 2005 (that's 13 years old) battery is not fine.

 Yes sir,  Test or programming track.

Try replacing the battery - if it’s that old it’s no good. For a test, use 9v you can buy at any store. I,m guessing that will fix it until you can get a capacitor battery

One other item to check is the tether.  Are sure it’s connected properly. I’ve had tons of trouble with those **** things. 

Learned my lesson over and over - no Mth engines with a tether - too many issues!

If no luck with a test or programming track,,, ( a must)   You could try the recover engine feature under the engine set up menu   and  or make ID #1  available  in the dcs remote. Of course you need a good dcs signal.

By any chance, are you running DCS 4.2 or earlier and have lashups in the remote, and do you get the message ENGINE ERROR?

One other thing to try, only put the lead “A” unit on the track with no other cars or engines anywhere. Only the lead unit has the electronics that controls whether the engine is found, the trailing unit are not needed for that.

I am running DCS 6.10, no lashups in the remote and I get "No Engine to add".

If you press read with only this engine on the tracks, does a different engine come up?

And kill the power after running conventionally, and see how long the sounds last.

GGG, when using Recover Engine, doesn't the remote ask you which engine you want to recover from the list of engines in the remote? I didn't think it was possible to recover an engine that was never added to the remote. How would this be done when the engine is not in the list? Thanks in advance.

I believe it has to be the only engine on the track and one must use tiu #1. In my experience it doesn't have to be or have been in the remote.

However, it’s worth noting that if one uses the DCS App to recover an engine, any TIU may be used. It’s not necessary to use TIU #1.

Engine is now up and running through DCS remote! I wound up resetting the remote then using recover engine function which I had done previously over the weekend. I must have chosen the wrong TIU the first time.
