The new catalog goes "live" on Sept 10th. I can't tell you what is in it but it will include the new extended line of operating assy's, new "Plug and Play" line and some new BTO and Lionchief engines. Please check our web sites for details AFTER the catalog goes live. Thank You, Chris and Charlie...

Sorry no hints!

I am embarrassed to ask, but what are "assy's"? -- and please don't make me the butt of any jokes. Let's leave those behind. I just hope this thread doesn't go in the toilet. Thanks!

Speaking of the new catalog, we'll be offering another special episode of Notch 6 to compliment the new catalog. Matt Ashba and Mike Reagan will join me to discuss the new products in this Volume II catalog. You'll get an in depth look at these new products as well as details that you won't find in the catalog. The show will go live at the same time as the catalog on Sept 10th. We encourage everyone listen to the show while flipping through the catalog at Lionel.com. Then after you're done, go order your items from your favorite OGR Sponsor and Authorized Lionel Dealer.

Terry,

I work with Japanese Service Manuals and ASSY is a commonly used abbreviation for Assembly. I never cared for it and always change it to the full word instead of the abbreviation.

It's just one of those things that never sounds correct in using, and I am not trying to Politically Correct, just Morally Correct!

Thanks for the update Charlie.  Can you give some background as to what "extended line" means?  Is it previously released accessories that are being re-released &/or improved (having its product life extended or possibly enhanced w/ command control activation) or is it just an innocent description?

Probably an innocent description.

As in "they haven't really done squat for accessories in many years now", so it's "extended".

Well I am hoping for something new and exciting for the LIONELVILLE line of accessory buildings.

Lionel is clearly Taking Care of Business.

Yes, to the several organizations/members noted in the responses.

But we (LHS) as well as other brick/mortar shops...like Charlie at Nassau...have a FREE copy for you if you stop in...and after our supply is received.  Usually we get one advanced copy for the store and customers are welcome to page through it at the counter.  Long ago we would mail out copies to our Lionel customers-of-record, but the USPS took care of that....too much $$$, damaged handling, 'lost' copies, low priority late deliveries, etc., etc.,etc..

Besides, it's a chance to chat, buy, pre-order, ....bellyache....whatever!

Hey, FREE is good!  An excuse to visit your LHS?.....even better!!

I'm hoping for a Legacy Pilot Model PRR T-1 4-4-4-4, and a Legacy Pilot NYC Niagara in the

2015 V1 catalogue - or the other way around; doesn't matter.

Just so they come along. I'm not buying new big steamers these days, as there are so many nice, reasonably-priced NIB/Used ones out there (and the fact that I simply have

too many) - but the unpainted Pilot Models do ring my bell quite nicely.

Yes... They've been LONG overdue.  I almost want to say the last ones produced came out of the 2007 catalogs... which would have been 2008 deliveries.

The good news is that Lionel has catalog'd one for the upcoming Neil Young Signature series 15" cars.  The bad news though is Lionel can't seem to deliver any aluminum passenger cars on schedule these days, and there's close to a dozen sets that have been catalog'd in the last year or so.
