I picked up some new pieces recently and always like to see what others have acquired also.

For some reason I have always loved cabeese and picked up a few.  One I have received and others on the way.  I got a Weaver 2 rail NIB Central of Georgia.  The cool part of this car to me is the box and who it was made for...Memory Station in Watkinsville, GA.  I have been there many times and Louis the owner is a great guy even if he mostly deals in 3 rail.

I also picked up a few Sunset brass wooden cabeese...4 in total.  Will post pics when I receive them.

I also picked up a Western HobbyCraft  Brass Trolley in a nice green and white paint scheme...which will fit in nicely with my Southern theme.  Not sure how I am going to letter it yet...maybe just plain ole Southern  or come up with a unique name that will fit...like "Savannah Trolley Tours"...which we have here in Savannah although not on rails anymore...

What have you acquired that you want to show off?

Magnificent model! Magnificent locomotive!  #'s 6315 and 6318 were the last two CB&Q 2-10-4's in regular service, Sept-Dec 1958, on the Beardstown (IL) Division. And the final run of any Burlington 2-10-4 occurred on a Sept 6th, 1959 fantrip, with 6315 double-headed with O5b 4-8-4 #5632, Chicago-Galesburg (IL). The railroad had to put the 6315 on the train outside of Chicago, as the bridges in Chicago would not support the weight of the 2-10-4.

Hi Sarah

Is this engine made by Williams?  Can you post the model number and year made.  It is really a beautiful engine. Congratulations on the find!

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

that's a PSC model made in 2005 or so. There is no number anywhere on the engine so I've got no idea how many were made. But I originally ordered the Worthington equipped sister.

This pic is not the actual engine but I have not taken a pic of the label.

Hey Mark, I really love the Q! Problem: I model the C&S so how could I ever justify a 2-10-4 on my layout?! I'll find a solution :-)

Sarah - Ahhh, I also love the Colorado & Southern!  We are in luck, the Burlington 2-10-4's were rebuilt in the 1930's for high speed freight service, Chicago-Denver. The C&S maintained large locomotive facilities adjacent to Denver Union Station, so it is quite conceivable that Burlington 2-10-4's mingled with Colorado & Southern locomotives and equipment. The 2-10-4's handled large mail trains and "main" trains  (troop trains) in WWII, which would have operated directly out of Denver Union Station. The C&S ran "South Park" narrow gauge passenger trains out of DUS to Leadville until April 1937, and ran 3' gauge freight trains through DUS, both westbound (Clear Creek Line) and south bound until about 1941. So, don't hesitate to pick up C&S narrow gauge equipment!

If I might, I would recommend a book titled "Colorado & Southern Northern Division", by James L. Ehernberger. It has some of the most satisfying photographs of C&S steam locomotives in action!  Should be readily available on the secondary market. A must for any C&S fan!

Thank you for the hint on the book! I'll get one :-)

Beautiful engine Sarah!  I have not owned a PSC Steam engine yet...I have my eyes on one...it has also asked to spend the night, but I am not trying to make eye contact!  Their engines and rolling stock are always so beautifully detailed!

Thanks - I really think we allhave too many engines but that's the very fun of the hobby where all the magic lies. You got to appreciate quality.
